Previously - COLLARS AND FORCED TO FIGHT EACH OTHER. Oh, and there's a new villain and some possessed evil zords, and I spent a while raging at Queenriley about how to handle special collections and generally had a librarian freakout about THAT IS NOT HOW YOU HANDLE RARE ITEMS, KENDRIX. I have a lot of feelings about it, okay?
Anyway, so there's some villain stuff with being a new general and the evil zords, and could we go back to Damon and Kai being collared and forced to fight each other? I'm just saying, this is pretty relevant to my interests.
Meanwhile, the Rangers are brainstorming about why they can't get the Zords to fight. They... are idiots. It is pretty obvious. Anyway, because Damon is the smartest, he has a plan. And Leo is all "So, we should blow shit up." Oh, Leo. Of course that is your plan. You are such a red.
Meanwhile, Kendrix is going to research. Come join my fictional researcher/librarian favorites list, Kendrix! Although take a class on archives, okay?
Maya is trying to reason with the Fugazords, but they ignore her, and the evil Zords start destroying the colony. The boys show up on their bikes, while Mike and his floppy hair are running around command. Kendrix continues to stare at the book. The boys get ambushed and Damon is all "you two go blow shit up, I will fight all the mooks."
Kendrix sends Mike to go help out while she continues to research, and this is why the teams usually do better when they have a tech! Clearly Billy should show up and be all "let me run everything because I am great at this." But really, I just want more Billy in everything, so. (He should hook up with Kendrix. They could be adorable geeks together!)
Kai blasts more monsters and he is injured, so it is up to Leo to go blow stuff up by himself. The fug zords are just standing there, staring at the evil zords. Meanwhile, Leo nearly gets ambushed, but Kendrix and Mike show up at the last minute, leaving him to drive off.
Meanwhile, Kendrix has FINALLY figured out that the evil zords are galactabeasts, because the fish must have finally stopped interfering with her thought processes. She knows she needs to stop them. Leo is about to drive his bike into the evil Zords to make it explode, but Kendrix throws herself into his path. She explains how the Zords are clearly under a spell and instead a plan is formed to take the evil remote control away from Deviot.
Deviot exposits some more about how he captured the Zords and brainwashed them and we get some more backstory from whatever happened 3000 years ago. Deviot teleports out, and we get some fun fighting as the Rangers try to get the remote away from this week's monster. There's a dramatic pushing the monster off the roof, and seriously, this monster looks like Swamp Thing. Leo finally gets the remote, but the monster destroys it.
The Rangers summon the fish of Orion, and then the monster grows. Of course, their Zords are busy fighting the other Zords, so we have a problem. They get the Zords to stop fighting and form the Megazords. I am not sure why we can see a sun setting, since they are ON A SPACE SHIP.
I also don't know why we can see the moon rising. Anyway, the Rangers are all "Remember who you aaaaaaaaaaaaaare" which is a thing I love. They keep yelling at them to remember that they're friends, and somehow that magically gets to them, and they turn into the nice versions of themselves! Now they have ALL the Zords, so the fight now consists of the new Zords showing off before they destroy the monster.
Deviot has a sad, because he wants to enter the cocoon. He then immediately decides what he should do is destroy Scorpius. I do love a scheming villain - go hang out with Darkonda, Deviot!
Anyway, the Zords have a sad, and we find out that they've gone 14 light years, but they couldn't get back to Earth even if they wanted to? So the most they could go is 27 light years? Although I am impressed that they managed to go 14 light years in 20 episodes! They've got a pretty great FTL drive!
Fish: 3.5! Boys, blowing stuff up might not always be the greatest plan.
Fic we want: LOOK, I know it is last episode, but I am just saying - someone should really write me some dubcon under a spell, Damon/Kai fic. JUST SAYING.

Episode 262 - The Great Evilyzer
So the professor is creating some new device that will turn people EEEEEEEEEVIL. I don't think that good and evil quite work that way, but I am seriously hoping that I will get evil Rangers out of this. Also, then the terrible trio gets attacked by an evil robot thing, so hey! Points. Ecliptor steals the evilyzer, and laughs evilly.
... So why would someone WANT to build an evilyzer anyway? No, seriously. WHY?
On the bright side, we should get some evil Rangers out of the deal!
Astronema tells Ecliptor to test it on the Rangers (YESSSSSSSSSSS) but she has a bigger plan.
Ashley and Andros are on some planet with really heavy gravity which causes Ashley to fall over. Once they're back on the Galaxy Glider, Ashley and Andros show off for each other, and... that is not how space works. Ashley's glider gets hit by the evilizer and tries to throw her off and AGAIN, THAT IS NOT HOW SPACE WORKS.
Apparently the gliders are programmed to be good. UM. THEY ARE GLIDERS, THEY ARE NOT SENTIENT. THEY DO NOT HAVE GOOD AND EVIL SETTINGS. Although I really wouldn't be surprised if my router was permanently set to evil. So you know. Maybe I could believe this.
CASSIE, YOUR HAIR. Is this a symbol of her going evil? Because HAIR.
The Rangers morph because there's some disturbance in Angel Grove, since there's some monster. They shoot at it, and then it vanishes, only to be met by TWO monsters. And then more monsters. Astronema makes one of them grow, while the others are apparently tough to defeat even while they're small.
Andros summons his new toy and Astronema uses the evilyzer to turn it evil. Look, I don't care about evil Zords, I wanted EVIL RANGERS. HOW DO WE HAVE AN EPISODE ABOUT THIS WITH NO EVIL RANGERS.
The Delta Megazord starts destroying the city, and man, the space rangers are going to have a lot to explain. They should call Tommy for some tips. Andros decides that the smartest way to fight an evil Zord is to summon the OTHER zord. Andros orders the Delta Megazord to stop being evil, and it looks like it works, but the evil!Zord is smarter then they are and it shoots them a lot. You go, evil!Zord.
They hit the Delta Megazord with some frequency that should jam the evil although it is overheating the Zord. The Delta Megazord heads to space and the Rangers follow it and try to link with it to find out if it's still evil. THAT IS NOT A GOOD PLAN. But for some reason it works.
The combined Megazord beats ALL the monsters by punching them. What were the monsters doing while the two Megazords were fighting? I mean, they should have helped the evil!Zord.
Astronema threatens to destroy Elgar for talking too much, which would have redeemed the episode. Sadly, it doesn't happen. Andros and Ashley find Ashley's EEEEEEEEEVIL glider, which she then fixes. The terrible trio is still running from the evil toy.
Fish: 5! WHAT A WASTED PLOT DEVICE.
Fic we want: NO SERIOUSLY, WHY WERE THEY NOT EVIL?????

Episode 234 - Clash of the Megazords
Seriously, is this arch over yet?
Previously, the only thing worth mentioning is the Monster Tour. And also the Rangers got some new zords, General Havoc serves them tea, Cassie is not a sparklepire, and maybe the Phantom is going to die? Whatever.
Justin is searching for the space base and everyone is concerned about Divatox using the ruby. TJ and Cassie (\o/) go to the spot where the Phantom's tunnels were, and then ask to be teleported into the tunnel. Cassie is SO not dressed for sewer work. They easily find the Phantom and his ship, but he's unconscious.
Porto and his goons are working on the Megazord and Divatox talks more about her plan. We get distracted by talking about how Phantom could be Billy, and the reason he needs the ruby is because it's what's keeping him young. It's a theory, anyway. (And one we would like better if it didn't mean Billy/Cassie.)
TJ comes up with a plan to attract Divatox's space base with a magnet. This plan makes no sense, but TJ is such an awesome red, and we adore him. More of TJ! Also, I enjoy that Ashley is good at tech stuff.
Porto has installed some batteries on the Turbo Megazord for some reason. IDEK. Megazord vs Megazord fights are usually fun, though, so I'm looking forward to that.
The Rangers use their device to lock onto the space base, and Divatox fires at them in return. Also, Elgar gets hit with a frying pan. Divatox sends down a monster, who breaks the magnet with his face. Divatox then launches the Turbo Megazord.
The monster is piloting the Turbo Megazord, and so the Rangers call the Village People Zords. It's Zord vs Zord! (For some reason the monster tells the Rangers that the ruby is in the battery pack.)
Alpha warns them not to destroy the Zord or they risk destroying the Phantom Ranger. There's a pause in the fighting because the batteries need to recharge because apparently they took lessons from Serpenterra or something.
TJ decides to go use lightning cruiser to get the battery, which is a pretty decent plan, although it causes Carlos to point out that TJ is either the bravest guy or the craziest. Or both.
Just as the Turbo Zord was about to destroy the Village People Zord, TJ shows up and fights the monster inside the Turbo Megazord, and then on top of the battery pack. See, if TJ hadn't been all "one person only" then TJ could have fought the mosnter while someone else grabbed the ruby. But TJ manages to win and grab the ruby anyway, and the Turbo Megazord is returned to their control.
TJ is all "great job pretending to be helpless!" and Carlos is "... yeah! That was totally the plan!"
Divatox makes the monster grow, and we get more fight scenes. This is super long, and super high fight content. But wow, that's a lot of artillery that they're using on that monster.
They restore the Phantom Rangers ruby, and he's fine. He only thanks Cassie. What a jerk. He leaves and is all "I go where I'm needed."
Cassie is all "So if we need you again?" and he responds with "I will always remember you." She smiles. THAT IS NOT AN ANSWER TO THAT QUESTION. Can we please get back to TJ/Cassie now?
Fish: 4. Mostly because it was high fight and SUPER BORING.

Episode 231 - The Darkest Day
So we begin with TJ and Cassie on a date. It looks like Cassie was raiding Kat's wardrobe again. They appear to be wandering straight into a trap (apparently Divatox is going to dump a boulder on them), when some robot guy calls Divatox.
TJ and Cassie manage to avoid the rock slide, because TJ's awesome car is awesome, although they jump into Justin's car instead. Plan is ruined, and we're only 3 minutes into the episode. Although hey, unmorphed fight scene! That is totally the best Ranger way to spend a date.
Turns out that the phone call was from Divatox's brother, General Havoc. He's brought along his space base and Divatox is super excited. (Um, is he Elgar's dad? I mean, Elgar is Divatox's nephew. Do we know?)
Ashley has apparently gotten Justin a ticket to the monster tour where you go all around town and see where Rangers have fought monsters. This is frankly the most amazing idea ever, even if Carlos thinks its ridiculous. (Of course, he totally takes the ticket when Ashley offers it, because he looooooves her. Although seriously, Ashley, don't take Justin along on your dates with Carlos.)
SERIOUSLY, THE MONSTER TOURS ARE THE GREATEST IDEA EVER, AND WE SHOULD HAVE ALL THE FIC ABOUT THEM. Bulk giving tours is pretty much the greatest thing ever and Skull is pretending to be the monster. The people on the tour are totally disappointed (who would WANT to see a monster) but frankly, BEST IDEA EVER. I also support the Angel Grove eventually gets a Rangers theme park idea.
MONSTER TOUR. Oh man, I would so much rather think about that and various teams of Rangers going on these tours and playing drinking games on them then actually paying attention to this episode. You know Angel Grove has to have a nighttime pub monster tour like ghost tours. WHY DOES THIS FIC NOT EXIST???
Anyway, Divatox leaves the lake to go join with the space base or whatever, and it's not nearly as interesting as the monster tour. The scene goes on forever which takes away precious time from the monster tour.
Up at the Power Chamber, Carlos wonders if Divatox has given up, since she's left the lake. Instead, Havoc calls the Rangers to threaten them. It's all really boring. Havoc is drinking tea when the Rangers show up to meet him, he's pretty awesome like that. We get new henchmen, and they're also boring. That's actually the theme of this episode. It's not very fishy, it's just really dull. Havoc has a pretty cool Zord, and while it's threatening the Rangers, we get back to the MONSTER TOUR.
Bulk and Skull tell us about the monster alert system, and they try to claim that they don't scream or run, when they spot the zord thing, and immediately start screaming. I love them so much. (Also, hey, the alert never went off. I guess they need to repair it.)
The Zord fight continues, with Havoc beating the Rangers pretty badly. The new mooks BREAK INTO THE ZORDS, and okay, this is actually pretty great. The Rangers are fighting INSTEAD THE COCKPIT of the zord, and they get kicked out of their Zord, and suddenly this episode got interesting, as Havoc's Zord STEALS THE MEGAZORD. Okay, that came out of nowhere, but seriously, there was some major flailing and all caps. AWESOME.
The Rangers are all super depressed and they have no idea what to do. Justin wonders where they took the Megazord, and Carlos is super pessimistic. And then the Phantom Ranger shows up to let them know there's some hope, but he won't tell them what it is, just that it will be revealed in time. What a JERK.
We get a to be continued - and it will be! Because queenriley is coming to visit me this weekend! We'll have a bunch of recaps for you, and if netflix ever gets its act together, we should also have a really bad action movie starring Johnny Yong Bosch!
Fish: 4. It might have been more, but MONSTER TOURS.
Fic we want: MONSTER TOUR. How is that SO GREAT.
(Also, hey, does anyone have any awesome Turbo/Space icons?)

Episode 202 - Ranger of Two Worlds - Part 2
I was already cranky before this episode started, and now I'm EXTRA cranky. And unlike Queenriley, I didn't even have anything to drink to dull the pain.
WHATEVER.
Look, this episode should be awesome. It's our first teamup! You know what my feelings about teamups are? Pretty much that they are the BEST THINGS EVER. And it isn't even that I have an objection to the old!Billy plot. I don't even really have an objection to him moving to Aquitar. It is the execution of this combined with the poor acting on the part of fake!old!Billy and the poor dubbing that PISSES ME OFF. Well, that and the behind the scenes thing, but we've ranted about that before and I'm going to try not to curse a lot.
So, the episode begins with the Zeo Megazord under evil control with Billy stuck inside it. The other Rangers realize that hey, they have another Zord, so they take off after it, in what should be a great Megazord vs Megazord fight. Of course, they promptly lose control of their Zord to the ugly purse monster (because Finster is the best), while Cestro hits a control panel a few times which allows them to teleport Billy out.
Bulk and Skull are taking their detective license test (completely unsupervised) and a monster attack starts. They assume that this is part of the test and just keep working. Oh boys. They are... not very smart.
The Rangers decide to summon Auric, who attempts to convince the monsters that they are behaving badly. Seriously, he asks them if their behavior is really fair to the citizens of Angel Grove. How great is that? Kat's plan to take control of the Megazords again works, but wasn't much of a plan. They just... jump in, and also take advantage of the fact that Ugly Purse Monster is stupid.
Meanwhile, Delphine suggests that they use the Fountain of Youth Water from Aquitar and summon Cestria to bring it, and we're busy all capsing NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO for a while, and also we're distracted by old!fake!Billy's weird folksy southern accent. Also, Cestria's outfit is the fugliest thing I've ever seen on this show. So Billy leaves with Cestria to get more treatment, and he doesn't even say goodbye and there is some SERIOUS RAGE.
While we're busy protesting Billy's departure, we get our first real teamup. THIS SHOULD BE AWESOME. 11 Rangers fighting together? WHY IS THIS EPISODE NOT GREAT? The Aquitians are just awesome and I love Delphine and just... why are they in such a shitty episode? Anyway, while the Aquitians + Jason handle the Cogs, the other Rangers calls their Zords to fight the monster, which includes such things as Kat and Tanya's zords doing the care bears stare. Then the monsters combine into one monster, and the Zeo Rangers summon their Zords and are all "yeah, we're done playing around" so they just pretty much bring out all the toys and smash the monsters to bits.
Bulk and Skull discover that a) they passed the test and b) they only passed because the examiners were impressed that they finished the test during a monster attack and promptly pass out into their ice cream.
AND THEN IT HAPPENS. We honestly debated just pasting our chat, but it's just a giant string of profanity interlaced with "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO" so that's pretty pointless.
Cestria and Billy call and it is SO BADLY DUBBED and the words don't match the mouth at all and it doesn't even SOUND like Billy and DISTRACTED BY RAGE and basically for some reason Billy is staying behind to marry Cestria OR WHATEVER. Personally, I choose to believe one of the following possibilities.
1-The anti-aging thing actually worked too well and Billy is about to be 10 again and doesn't want everyone to feel guilty. (THIS IS BACKED UP BY HIM "BEING SPEECHLESS" AND VANISHING FROM THE SCREEN)
2-Billy is actually going to be busy creating the Turbo and/or Phantom powers and/or has been offered the opportunity to be a Grid Master.
3-BILLY CRANSTON, INTERGALACTIC SUPER SPY. Someone write me this immediately.
4-He's actually headed back to Earth to join Torchwood with Trini and Zack.
Fish: FIVE. ALL THE FISH.
Covered in food: REALLY, BULK AND SKULL? REALLY?
Fic we want: There are four possibilities up there! *points*

Yes, it's THOSE episodes. The ones for which we created our fish scale. Please note this recap required two beers and I'm about to go start my third. I can't take these episodes otherwise. *SOB*
We start out with Bulk and Skull studying to take their detective exams. Aw, boys. They keep getting distracted, though, because Kat is distraught that she's crap at making fashion accessories. She made a purse. A really ugly purse. Tanya tries to make her feel better and Adam tells her it's the first thing he's ever known her to be not perfect at. Oh show. At least you realize what you did to her character. Jason rushes in to grab them all fast. There is an emergency at the Power Chamber.
Billy is aging. Rapidly. THIS IS NOT BILLY. THIS IS FAKE!BILLY. There is exposition where we learn there were consequences to aging him up during the time they were all turned into kids. At least they sort of half-assed TRIED to make this part make sense? This part, anyway. So nobody can think of anything, except Adam and Rocky are off in the corner being all suspicious. They have contacted the Aquitian Rangers. They are on their way.
Cestro and Delphine show up and immediately asses the situation. They can totes fix this, you guys. EXCEPT THEY CAN'T. THEIR DEVICE FAILS (and totally destroys the teleportation system in the process). BILLY IS SMARTER THAN THE AQUITIANS. At least his first device didn't blow up. THEY FAIL. Billy is still rapidly aging.
Meanwhile, Finster has recreated Rita's staff and made some cool improvements. She tries to point it at Kat to make her evil again (good plan, except it totally failed last time you tried it). Instead, she zaps Kat's god awful purse instead, turning it into a monster. It's as if Kirby and Oogie Boogie had an evil, malformed love child.
Mondo, upon regaining his throne from his Wayward Son Gasket, shan't be outdone by Rita and Zedd. He has his own monster. It turns cogs into... things. He plants an evil cog device inside the Megazord and ends up controlling it.
The rangers fight the monsters. They kind of fail. Mondo teleports Evil Deformed Kirby Jr. away and the rangers retreat. Billy detects something malfunctioning in the zord and so he goes in to check it out. It takes off with him inside and he can't get out.
To be continued. Unfortunately.
5 fish. All the fish in the LAND came together for this episode. And they brought their Aquitian Fish buddies, too.

Episode 107 - Best Man For The Job
Today on Power Rangers - The exciting world of Angel Grove politics! The Geography makes even less sense than usual! Skull channels Bert from Mary Poppins and Tommy really can't get along with anyone!
Seriously, I love this episode.
We begin with the announcement that school elections are being held. Billy decides that Tommy would make a good president, and we wonder if Billy hit his head before the episode began. The slogan he comes up with for Tommy's campaign (Tommy Oliver - the best man for the job) just confirms this. Why would Tommy be good at being president? What are his qualifications? Has he expressed any interest in running for student council? I think not.
Aisha clearly has some sense, because she pulls Kim aside and tells her that sometimes the best man for the job is a woman, and that Kim should run for class president. This is slightly better. But do you know who would make an awesome class president? Aisha. You know, the one who already has control issues and wants to improve the community? Remember that? But instead Aisha decides that Kim should run and she'll manage the campaign.
Kimberly asks Tommy if he'd be okay with her running against him. He tells her it's fine, and I don't see why he has a say in it. *grumpy* But the fact is, he does support her in this, so he gets about a million points for that. The two of them agree to have a nice campaign since they're friends. Aww.
In an amazing nod to continuity, Skull would also like to be class president. He will get rid of homework, detention, and school if he's elected. Bulk ignores him for a minute, and then decides that he should run for president on a campaign promise of revealing the Rangers' secret identities. He seems to think these will be in the school files. ... Right. Skull sulks for a minute, and then supports Bulk. Don't worry, Skull, we're only a season and a half away from Bulk supporting you!
Up on the moon, Rita and Zedd start arguing over who could come up with a better plan to destroy the Rangers. Zedd goes off to plot, while Rita just pulls out the glowing rope of doom and puts a spell on Tommy and Kim to make them really try to beat each other. Because we need another lesson in learning to get along. (Common denominator of all of those spells - Tommy. HA.) As soon as they trip over the glowing rope of doom they begin to bicker, and clearly the writers' know exactly what Tommy's weaknesses are, because Kimberly hits the nail on the head with her insults.
The next day Tommy is drawing a mustache and a beard on Kimberly's poster. Billy shows up and is all horrified, but Tommy just then covers up his own handiwork with a sign of himself. Billy lets Tommy know that they're ahead in the polls by 15% (really? When was this poll? They just announced this earlier that day! And are we sure the polling data is accurate?) and Tommy tells him he wants to beat Kim by 50%. Kimberly and Aisha show up, and Kim and Tommy start arguing about who will win. They accost some random guy in the hall, and Tommy is all "You WILL vote for me, right?" except Kimberly grabs the same guy and informs Tommy he'll vote for her. "Win with Kim!" (Which is a much better slogan than the best man for the job. Anyway.) Billy walks off with Tommy, and Kimberly defaces Tommy's poster so that it says "Don't Vote For Dummy." *DEAD*
Bulk is campaigning in a top hat. How is he so awesome?
Rocky and Adam finally show up. We're pretty sure that they were off making out. Or they just didn't want to choose between their friends. I like the first theory better.
Tommy finds a note taped to his locker telling him to go to the park if he wants information on how to destroy Kimberly. He goes, and it is, of course, a trap. Goldar and some putties are waiting for him. There's a pretty awesome fight scene, but Tommy is quickly overwhelmed. Zordon actually notices something, and calls the other Rangers, who are busy confronting Kim about the negative campaign. Kimberly mocks Tommy for getting into trouble again, and then the five Rangers morph in the hallway. Secret identities? Really?
Kim and Tommy spend the whole fight arguing with each other. Goldar is totally confused, because they're completely ignoring him, trampling any putties who get in the way of their bickering. Goldar finally manages to get their attention by stealing Saba and Kimberly and Tommy continue to argue over whose fault it was.
Back at the Command Center, Billy has finally realized that maybe the two of them are under a spell. Zordon agrees, and says that smelling roses will fix it.
.....
Right. So they smell the roses and apologize to each other. Tommy stays behind to help Alpha build an electromagnet (I DON'T EVEN KNOW) to get Saba back, while the other Rangers go back to the park. Keep in mind they are at the park. This is important. Rita is actually on Earth (although we don't get to see her bicycle) and she uses Saba to summon the tigerzord. The other Rangers call the megazord and they fight. Except the fight scene keeps going between a fight at the lake and a fight in downtown. I'm pretty sure there aren't any giant buildings in the middle of Angel Grove park, except they clearly squash one during the fight. Angel Grove geography makes no sense at all.
Tommy shows up with the magnet and they get the sword back, and Rita teleports back to the moon. Everyone is happy.
Later, at the Youth Center the candidates are giving their speeches. Why this is being held at the juice bar and not in the school we.... have no idea. Kim is wrapping up a speech, where she has clearly outlined a plan and has done research. (Or Aisha has. I have a theory.) Tommy gets up to give his speech, and instead says that actually, Kim would be better at this than he would be, because she clearly has a plan, and he's just there to look pretty. So he forfeits.
Skull shows up, all one man band and announces Bulk. Bulk is all dressed up as Uncle Sam and makes his speech about the identity of the Rangers. Then the elections are held. I guess there are only 100 people in the whole school? But Kim wins. Bulk demands a recount, and the principal tells him that he only got one vote. Bulk glares at Skull, and Skull says that Kim made an awesome speech.
I am actually not too happy with this election - I would have liked Kim to win based on her awesome speech, and not just because Tommy dropped out and basically gave it to her. She did the research, and Tommy wasn't prepared. Basically, she won by default, and I'm just not okay with that.
Oh well.
Five episodes left in the season! We're getting there!

Episode 106- Return of the Green Ranger Part 3
Today on Power Rangers, history STILL doesn't work that way!
This episode is all about Tommy's self esteem. He spends the whole thing beating himself up. Literally.
Anyway, we start off with Good!Tommy being all weak and fuzzy. His vision is blurry, he stumbles around, and at one point he falls down some steps. Meanwhile, Rita and Zedd are arguing about who's idea it was to send the rangers to the past.
Back in 17something, in Angel Grove That Should Not Exist, all the supposedly-British redcoats have very distinct Australian accents. They are looking for the witches and end up finding the really big rats instead. Everybody flees in terror.
Good!Tommy must morph and go fight Evil!Tommy. So they fight again. In their zords. DragonZord, in coming out of the water, manages to soak the entire warehouse district... and it's actually got people working in it! Alas, nothing gets destroyed.
Good!Tommy has to go back in time to get the other rangers, so he steals the wand from the freaky wizard guy and transports himself back. The other rangers want to stop the rat monster things, but he says there is no time and they have to go stop Evil!Tommy instead. So... they all just go. It's TIME TRAVEL, Dude. You can stop the rats and go back to your own time the exact second you LEFT IT. As in, the FUTURE can wait while you beat up some rats. But no. They all go back and stop Evil!Tommy.
So eventually Good!Tommy manages to break the spell on Evil!Tommy. And BUZWHA????? Under a spell? Since when? How? He's a clone of ONLY THE EVIL PARTS OF TOMMY. If that's a spell, his entire BEING is a spell. But whatever. So now Evil!Tommy is Good!Green!Tommy. Good!White!Tommy tries to get the rangers to stop fighting the DragonZord and Good!Green!Tommy manages to deactivate him just in time.
Tommy Squared go back in time by themselves and beat up the rats. White Ranger Tommy comes back to the present but leaves Green Ranger Tommy in the past... where they somehow accept him into their town instead of burning him at the stake.
Back in Present Day Might-Potentially-Exist Angel Grove, the rangers are trying to cheer Adam up because he's sad they had to leave Marissa behind (he invited her to join them but she refused, and then Rocky literally DRAGGED him away). A girl nearby drops all her books and Adam helps her pick them up, only to come face to face with a present day Marissa. Show? Genetics doesn't work like that.
The only good part of the whole episode? Not-Really-There 17something Angel Grove Redcoat Skull says Green Ranger Tommy can join his... "regiment". Just like that. His [long pause] regiment. Oh show. *smishes it so so much*
List time!
5 fish. Just... no.
Other things we keep track of? Nada. Zip. Zilch.
Fic we really want? Ms. Applebee telling the class about the legend of the Giant Rats that terrorized the Angel Grove that really oughtn't exist.

Episode 63- The Mutiny Part 3
Previously on Power Rangers we discover both piranhas in Angel Grove and Zordon plans to profit.
We get the new opening! Trini looks beautiful. Kim looks adorable. Zack has awesome hair. Billy and Jason are just stunningly GORGEOUS. And Tommy's hair makes me laugh like a cruel, heartless evildoer (TSB disagrees and thinks he looks good... to each their own).
So the Zords stopped attacking for no reason. Then they get turned on the rally. So apparently the monster got smart for once and went after civilians.
The Rangers are still waiting on the signal blocker. Billy and Trini might be able to finish if Zordon would stop interrupting them every five seconds to see if they're done. Of course, it's also my theory that they took some time to relieve some of the intense stress by having a serious make-out session (or, y'know, happy fun naked time). Either way, it's taking awhile and Zordon is impatient. Tommy has to stay behind because his powers are failing him again. He tries to be Emo Ranger but fails miserably. Give it up, Tommy. That role is reserved for Adam.
We see Angel Grove through Lord Zedd vision and are DELIGHTED because it is AWESOME. Somehow the monster magics Bulk and Skull's four wheelers so they go crazy, and then the Tyrannosaurus Zord goes all crazy on the drivers at the rally. Evil controls it way better than Jason does because we had no idea the Tyrannosaurus Zord could do so much damage.
Meanwhile, Zedd makes sure his brilliance astounds everybody. Yes, Lord Zedd, it certainly does. Us included. *fangirl-like sigh of dreaminess*
Back at Billy's lab of Evil Simmering Liquids of Evilness (he's an evil genius, I'm telling you), he and Trini finally finishmaking out the signal blocker. Billy, who had been wearing his glasses during the building of this device, removes them (sad!) and they teleport to the scene of battle. Unfortunately, it doesn't work. Did you check the batteries there, Billy? You seem to have a problem with that.
While Billy tries to figure it out, they blast the piranha monster with the awesome power blaster. It takes him out of the game for a few minutes, but the zords are still going after the rally. Meanwhile, Billy discovers he put the battery in upside down. Again. So he fixes it and they disrupt the signal and all is good, except then Zedd is awesome and glowing red and sends the zords into the pit of a volcano. Or rather, down a crack in the ground into molten lava. I have to wonder though, why is Kim's zord having problems? The darn thing flies OUT OF A VOLCANO! It shouldn't be bothered by being thrown into a pit of lava. Ought to feel like home, really.
So Zordon has Alpha work some impossible magic on the morphing grid and takes the old zords from the molten lava so they can be turned into the new zords. Nod and smile, people. It was a big steaming pile of fish for us too.
Is it can be new zords time nao? Why yes, yes it can! The monster grows, we get the new zords, they form an awesome megazord, and then they destroy the fish monster. Woohoo! Zedd gets mad, goes red again, blames everybody around him, and Finster is all pouty and sulking because Zedd wouldn't use one of his monsters instead.
At the Command Center, Jason is pretty and reassures Tommy that they'll always be friends. They somehow see into Rita's dumpster where she's lonely and singing 99 bottles of slime on the wall. Then everybody laughs at Bulk and Skull who are still trapped on out of control four wheelers. *sigh* There goes that bit of character development. Right out the window.
Back at the rally, Billy and Trini covertly use the signal blocking device to stop Bulk and Skull's four wheelers from going crazy. As they run away, Billy cops a feel. They send Tommy and Kim in to make sure Bulk and Skull are okay, which they are, and Tommy acts all impressed that Bulk and Skull met the Power Rangers. They make Bulk and Skull share a four wheeler while Tommy and Kim take the other one, whereupon Kim insists on driving. Good for her. Tommy would probably forget he's driving and try to kick a rock instead of avoid it, crashing the four wheeler by mistake.
They catch up quickly, but at least they didn't come in first in the race.
List time!
3.5 fish. A little ridiculous, but not too bad overall I suppose.
Billy speak: None. Again.

Episode 62 - The Mutiny - Part 2
Previously, on Power Rangers - Lord Zedd shows up. The Rangers lose control of their Zords. Kimberly has stylish boots.
The episode begins with Rangers realizing that they still have one zord - Tyrannosaurus. So they send that Zord to attack the monster. I'm still not sure why they summoned it anyway since the monster hasn't grown, but who am I to argue with a fish episode? Anyway, Lord Zedd has the fish monster take control of Tyrannosaurus, and everyone flails around yelling that they need Tommy. We get a shot of Tommy's ass, and then we find out that Tommy's powers are being temporarily recharged by Zordon. He then goes to back everyone up, and summons Dragonzord. Because if this monster can take control of one Zord, there's no way they can take control of Tommy's either, right?
Wrong. Dragonzord gets controlled by the fish monster as well. After it was having trouble beating Tyrannosaurus, even though it has previously beaten the Megazord. IDK.
Meanwhile, Zordon is talking to Alpha about how it is a good thing that they anticipated Zedd's return. We're pretty sure that anticipated is actually code for "noticed it was happening and decided to claim they had been preparing for it." He tells Alpha to prepare for phase 2.
Zordon's plan according to us:
phase one: anticipate the worst case scenario
phase two: make new zords
phase three: ???
phase four: PROFIT!
The Rangers teleport back to the Command Center, and Zack sounds like he's about to cry when he says the Rangers are finished. Don't cry, Zack! There are still 16 more seasons to recap! Zordon tells them to follow Alpha, and there's an AMAZING slow motion walk outside, where Alpha shows them their new Zords.
Jason controls the red dragon thunderzord, his power is fierce and true. Trini controls the griffin, swift and accurate. Zack has the lion, courage and strength. Billy's unicorn has mythological powers and wisdom. Kim's firebird is powerful and agile. Tommy doesn't get a new Zord because his powers are failing. These are changed slightly from what their powers signified back in Day of the Dumpster. (Oh, Billy, stuck with a unicorn. We're sure thatKimberly Trini will be able to help you with that problem.)
Of course, for some reason, even though these new Zords were created to battle Zedd, they can't be used until they regain control of the old Zords. Because Billy is more awesome than a computer, he and Trini go to their lab to figure out how to reprogram them.
Bulk and Skull have an argument about which way to go, and then they get attacked by a monster. The only real thing of note there is that Bulk compares his instincts to that of a homing pigeon.
Oh, and the Rangers go and fight the monster, and they're getting their asses kicked while waiting for Billy and Trini to finish. Seriously, nothing much happens in this episode - just a lot of setup for the finale.
Fish: FOUR. I'm sorry, the thing about the needing the old zords is RIDICULOUS.
Billy Speak: "If we build a device that will interfere with Lord Zedd's signal, we should be able to release the Zords."
