So Deviot is still pissed because he doesn't get the cocoon, since Trakeena is having it locked away. She says she's powerful enough without it, but she should keep it around just in case. Trakeena is having a flashback to the events of last episode, with Leo killing her dad, and the tearful goodbye she had with her dad. Villemax is all "Hey, found the Red Ranger" and Trakeena demands that he be brought to her, so she can kill him slowly and painfully.
In some really dusty place on Trakeena's ship, Deviot is busy being angry, and then he hires some monsters to take out Trakeena. Kegler interrupts telling Deviot that Trakeena wants him to help Villemax.
AND THEN I GET DISTRACTED BECAUSE LEO AND KAI ARE SPARRING WITH SWORDS AND HIIIIIII. (Seriously, I have a ton of icons from this episode.) Sadly, instead of getting another 15 minutes of them sparring, Villemax interrupts to try and get Leo, and we get a fun instamorph. It's a pretty great fight scene! Kai manages to call for backup, but he gets blasted in the process. Then Deviot shows up and takes Kai hostage, and the other Rangers are ALREADY IN CHAINS. DID I MENTION THE CHAINS???
If Leo doesn't surrender, then the others will all be destroyed. The others yell for Leo not to do it, but Leo is not about to let his teammates be hurt, so he powers down, and tosses his sword and morpher away. (Kai is VERY ANGRY that they are putting their hands on his boyfriend.)
Leo gets teleported away, and Villemax is all "I gave my word, they go free." Because Villemax is GREAT. Deviot is all "fuck, you're LAWFUL EVIL?" Then we get a little distracted because Leo is all chained up again, and also his shirt has started ripping dramatically and he is being tortured and clearly there should be some comfort later.
Trakeena shows up and starts molesting Leo, and Leo is trying to explain why he did it, but Trakeena is all "now I will destroy everything, and I'm more powerful then my father was." She wants to throw Leo into a pit of lava (and um, Trakeena, please read the evil overlord handbook) and somehow Leo manages to capture a stingwinger and fly out of the lava pit? Sure. He starts running away, and Deviot points Villemax in the wrong direction. (Speaking of Villemax, I ship Villemax/Trakeena so hard.)
Deviot shows Trakeena the real direction, in the hope that Leo will destroy Trakeena like he destroyed her father, and of course, also sends his assassins after them.
Trakeena had somehow been planning for him to escape, because they both end up in a dome she prepared, and Leo DRAMATICALLY RIPS HIS SHIRT OFF AND IT IS THE MOST FANSERVICEY THING EVER but then they ruin it by having him morph. :-/ (He got his morpher back when he flew out of the lava pit.)
Anyway, the Trakeena vs Leo fight is pretty fun. The other Rangers are on their way, which is good for Leo, because Trakeena is kicking his ass. Trakeena is just about to kill him, when Deviot brings down the force field, and Trakeena gets attacked by the two monsters. Leo is all "crap, which side am I on?" Trakeena takes out one of the monsters, and right before she's about to find out from the other one who had hired them, Deviot blows them up. Gee, Trakeena, maybe this was a sign?
And Leo has taken advantage of the situation to escape. Good Leo. As he's being chased again, the other Rangers all come to the rescue. Trakeena blasts them with green energy and is about to destroy them, when the monster that Deviot has "destroyed" shows up and has grown. Trakeena leaves, and the Rangers summon the Fugazord to fight. Easy victory
Trakeena shows up again to swear dramatically that she will destroy them.
Villemax gives Deviot a present for coming to Trakeena's aid, because Villemax is totally in love with Trakeena and also his honor. He should hang out with some Klingons. Then Deviot is all "yes, we are friends" and then he destroys the dagger as soon as Villemax is out of sight. But WAIT. Someone is watching!
Fish: Leo ripping his shirt off dramatically automatically makes it a one fish episode. We've decided to institute that as a new rule.
Fic we want: VILLEMAX/TRAKEENA. Also, the comfort part of the hurt/comfort with Leo/everyone.

Episode 314 - Heir to the Throne
It's a Trakeena episode! I'm looking forward to this.
So Daddy Bug is not happy that Trakeena has run away. Frankly, I don't blame her for leaving. Her father loves her and misses her, yes, but he was going to force something on her that she didn't want. Not like cleaning-your-room something, but a lifelong completely altering physical change. That's not cool, Daddy Bug! Poor Trakeena doesn't quite know where to go or what to do, so currently she's just wandering a desert.
In the same saloon we saw in PRiS, Trakeena finally finds relief. She needs a drink and all the males oogle her, but she will have none of it. She's not terribly good at the whole fighting thing, but she's trying! Her spoiled rich girl side is showing, but I have to give her credit for not giving up or taking crap. They throw her out, but Villemax (he looks like a big zipper) steps in to help her. Because that's no way to treat a lady. She doesn't really want his help but he manages to insult her into it. All she wants is to remain as she is and rule by her father's side, and Villemax says he'll help her learn to fight so she can.
He manages to break her of her spoiled rich girl attitude and teaches her to fight in the most awesome learn-to-fight-in-five-minutes montage ever! Nevermind it actually takes years and years and years of grueling practice, but hey, it's a tv show. And she's pretty awesome! It's a great training montage, where he makes her angry and her anger fuels her passion to learn and and and!
On Terra Venture, bad guys are trying to blow up the ship. The Power Rangers intervene, per usual, and rush to the tower the bad guys are going to blow up. But it's a trap! Deviot uses this plot to trick Scorpius into thinking Trakeena is on Terra Venture, held prisoner by the Power Rangers. Scorpius wants his daughter back, so he decides to go himself. He fights the rangers and he is actually pretty badass. He doesn't even have to MOVE. He just sits there and is all "I will put you in your place with my crazy long tentacles". AND HE DOES. They call out the Fish of Orion and there are explosions and they totally blew up Scorpius! Poor Scorpius. He died not knowing if his daughter is okay or not (although I'm pretty sure he's not really dead... that was way too easy).
Trakeena, all strong and fast and powerful, goes back to Onyx and teaches a lesson to the guys who fought her before. She took a few extra minutes to show off, because she's awesome, and then learns of her father's injuries. Villemax wants to escort her, because clearly he's in love with her, but Kegler is all worried about staying long. Scorpius is in pretty bad shape and tells Deviot to enter the cocoon. Trakeena shows up just in time! She and her father have a wonderful heart to heart and both apologize for their wrongdoings. Her father then passes all his power to her and dies, with his daughter by his side. GUYS! I AM SAD! I AM SAD ABOUT THIS BECAUSE IT WAS WELL WRITTEN AND EMOTIONAL AND SHE'S GOING TO MISS HER DADDY SO MUCH AND I AM LEGITIMATELY UPSET BY HIS DYING! One of his tentacles turns into a staff with a spider in amber at the end. Deviot tells her the Red Ranger did this to Scorpius and she wants revenge.
Back on Terra Venture, the rangers are lounging in a lovely picnic. Damon wants Kai to teach him how to "cook". A butterfly tells Maya that Scorpius is dead, but somebody more evil has taken his place. Duh duh duh!!!!!!

Episode 287- Andros and the Stowaway
So we start the episode with a tiny alien that is running from a bigger alien. It mostly looks like Bigger Alien is just playing a game with Tiny Alien, but whatever. They are the fakest aliens I have ever seen. Andros comes across Tiny Alien. He determines Tiny Alien is afraid, scares him out of a tree, and catches him on the way down. Bigger Alien introduces himself, accuses Andros of stealing, and fights ensue. Andros grabs Tiny Alien and the big alien runs away. Andros ensures his safety and the leaves the CLEARLY A BABY to his own devices. Tiny Baby Alien runs after Andros, however.
It sneaks it's way onto the MegaShip and scares Ashley. It's not a very good stowaway. Stowaways are supposed to hide, but whatever. Ashely names him Seymour. Somehow Seymour speaks English and ends up eating ALL THE THINGS. This, of course, gives him a stomach ache. Andros sits by his side all night. DAWWWWW.
Big Alien goes to Astronema to get his Tiny Alien back. He will agree to turn the Power Rangers to stone if she can help him get Tiny Alien back
Andros wakes up at the hospital bed to discover Tiny Alien Seymour is not so tiny any longer. He's as big as Andros now. Bigger Alien has gone down to Angel Grove to draw the rangers to him. Bigger Alien demands Seymour be given back. Ashley notices a resemblance between the two, but everybody ignores her. There is lots of fighting, which Seymour sees.
Back on the ship, Andros is looking for Seymour, but he's nowhere to be found. He's gone down to Earth because he made a mistake. The rangers are his friends now and he knows they're in trouble with Bigger Alien because of him. Bigger Alien finds him, compliments him on how much he's grown, and says Seymour is going with him. Andros comes by in the nick of time and take Seymour away with him. He tries to reassure Seymour and brings him a cookie, which Seymour splits. DAWWWW.
Except then Andros and Bigger Alien have to fight again because he's not going away without Seymour. The other rangers show up and there is a clearly-Sentai-footage battle to be fought. Bigger Alien manages to get a shot in at Andros' feet, turning them to stone, and Seymour steps in to help. Bigger Alien catches him and puts him in a pocket. The Rangers won't leave Seymour, though, and convince him he's strong and can fight the Bigger Alien. Boring battle ensues and this is really about the dumbest episode I think I've ever seen on Power Rangers. Which is saying something, because we did make it through the entirety of Turbo.
They win. Seymour is free to go so they take him home. He meets a girl. IT'S REALLY DUMB, OKAY? I JUST WANT IT TO BE OVER ALREADY. THERE IS NOT ENOUGH BLEACH FOR MY BRAIN TO ERASE THIS STUPID THING.
5 fish. OMG IT WAS SO BAD.

Episode 273 - A Date With Danger
So um. I have mentioned I really like the villain/Ranger thing, right? (See Goldar/Jason, Scorpina/Adam, Scorpina/Aisha, eventually Trakeena/Damon and Lucas/Nadira...)
Yeah, so Astronema/Zhane is TOTALLY on that list.
Which is why I'm recapping this and not Queenriley, who just informed me that if she was doing it, the recap would consist of "BUT YOU CAN'T MACK ON YOUR EX-BOYFRIEND'S LITTLE SISTER! IT'S JUST NOT RIGHT!"
Instead I will talk about Astronema/Zhane and how they should have really great sex.
We open up in a fight scene. That's usually not a good sign, but Zhane and Astronema flirting/fighting is great, especially when Zhane tricks Astronema into shooting her own monster. He tries to attack her and Zhane comes to her aid, because... she's hot?
Meanwhile, the other Rangers have destroyed the other monster, and we hit theme song. Such a good theme song.
Zhane has apparently taken Astronema to a secluded spot in the woods. He's ditched the helmet, built a fire, and propped her staff up against the tree. Then she stares at his ass for a minute, and then pretends to sleep again. And then he brings her something to drink, which she promptly insults.
Zhane is sad that she doesn't like his cooking. Meanwhile, Astronema is all "I could destroy you right now" and Zhane is all "here, let me show you how to toast marshmallows with your staff."
Astronema, honey, if you don't take him, QR and I will fight over him.
Astronema tells Zhane that they're still enemies, and then thanks him for saving her. We get some more shots of his ass. SO GREAT.
Back on the megaship, Carlos and TJ are goofing around, and Cassie and Ashley are all excited that star crossed lovers is playing. Carlos has no desire to see it. CARLOS, THIS IS WHY ASHLEY IS IGNORING YOU FOR ANDROS.
Meanwhile, Astronema is daydreaming about Zhane. Because he's dreeeamy. She's too busy fantasizing to be bothered with details about destroying the Rangers.
Back on the Megaship, Zhane is laying in his bunk, with one hand holding up a picture of Astronema, and we see nothing else of him. Gee, I wonder what he's doing?
Then the girls interrupt and drag him off to a movie. Even though he had better things to do. Astronema decides not to send monsters to interrupt their movie and instead goes down herself, ditching the awesome hair. (Note: Carlos thought the movie was romantic. Clearly he was having a lot of fun during the movie.)
Zhane stares at the movie poster and fantasizes about kissing Astronema. Astronema in human!form knocks into him, and causes him to drop his picture. Then she shoots him a LOVE LETTER with his picture of her, telling him to meet her at the campfire at 5.
Elgar and Ecliptor try to figure out where Astronema is, and then they decide to just go ahead with the plan anyway, because they're sure that's what they would have wanted. This interrupts the five main rangers discussion of the movie + food, and this time the monster knows all about their weapons. Because of the first fight.
Back at the picnic spot, Astronema has set up the BEST PICNIC EVER. Zhane has run to the Megaship where he's busy primping for the date. And he's bought flowers for Astronema! But Zhane is interrupted because the monster is attacking and so he has to miss the date. SAD FOR EVERYONE.
Astronema is getting pissed that he's late, and Zhane is clearly trying to get this done as soon as possible. Andros punches Ecliptor and then Zhane knocks off the monster's horns and it grows. Zhane is all "I AM LATE. YOU GO KILL THIS THING." And they do. Which I don't care about, because toys fighting and can we get back to Astronema and Zhane's soap opera, please????
Zhane shows up with flowers, and Astronema blasts him because he's LATE. Now he's all covered in mud. Astronema is mad that he stood her up and he's like "I DIDN'T." Zhane tells her he wouldn't have been late if she hadn't sent down any monsters, and she calls him a liar and says he never wants to see her again. EVERYONE HAS A SAD NOW.
Back on the Megaship, Ashley gets elected to find out what's wrong with Zhane. She fails, so Andros tries. Zhane just makes a sadface at him. When he fails, Cassie tries, but he just walks away. SUCH A SAD, ZHANE.
Back on the satellite, Astronema crumples up her picture of Zhane, but she can't make herself throw it away. BECAUSE OTP YOU GUYS. THIS IS SO GREAT.
Fish: 3 So how did they get the pictures of each other anyway? How did Zhane manage to set up the campfire that quickly? How long did it take for Zhane to fight the mosnter and be late? (I DON'T CARE HOW MANY FISH THIS HAS, IT IS SO GREAT.)

Episode 236- Beware the Third Wish
The Rangers are at a wishing well. Ashley wishes for world peace. She won't tell TJ what it is, lest it doesn't true. Justin is about to toss in a special coin his dad gave him when he left (and omg Justin was so tiny when his dad left, what the hell dude? Get an apartment and bring your kid with you, don't leave him for YEARS and YEARS). Justin wishes for his dad to come back. POOR KID. YOU HAVE THE WORST FATHER IN ALL THE PR HISTORY (up to this point, anyway).
Rygog and a monster are at the wishing well, too. The monster fishes Justin's coin out of the well (okay, it's really more of a fountain) and decides to give it to Divatox. There is lots of unmorphed fighting! I approve of this. Unfortunately Blue Senturian comes in to "save the day" and tells them taking from the wishing well is an infraction of the law. The monsters get away and Justin is all upset his special coin is gone.
The monster turns the three coins he stole into wishing coins. Divatox is upset she only gets three wishes and demands more, so the monster (who is apparently yet another purse monster) cowers in fear. Elgar takes one of Divatox's wishes and wishes for a full head of hair. He ends up with long flowing grey locks. Divatox takes a wish and decides she wants Blue Senturian to be evil. He was helping a guy pump up his bike tire and then suddenly goes on a rampage and tears apart the bike instead. So... him being evil just means he destroys stuff? Okay...
TJ goes to get all the coins from the wishing well before the purse monster thing does. They want to stop him from making the coins into more wishes for Divatox. The only thing is, the monster can't seem to turn the coins into more wishes. He determines this by trying to wish for stuff. I'm not sure how that works. TJ stops him though! Because TJ is awesome, despite the really bad splicing of US footage and Sentai footage.
Blue Senturian comes to help TJ fight, but he's evil now and ends up attacking TJ instead. Poor TJ is so confused. He tries to convince him that he's a good guy, but BS isn't buying it. It's not like he hasn't been evil before, TJ! This is becoming a rather disturbing habit of BS. I mostly just like calling him BS...
The monster brings a whole purse full of coins to Divatox, except they aren't wishing coins and all Divatox can do with them is buy something... something really cheap. Divatox is all upset she only has one wish left and starts to wish for the Power Rangers to always be... when Elgar bumps her and she drops the coin. So she just wished for the Power Rangers to be forever! That's kind of awesome. She throws Elgar off the balcony and apparently they can all breathe in space.
Bulk and Skull are trying to be plumbers and failing miserably at it, BECAUSE THEY'VE HAD NO TRAINING. The wishing coin comes down the pipe and they manage to snag it, not knowing what it is.
Justin has a sad because he wants his dad to come home. Carlos is the best big brother figure ever because he gets Justin to talk about his sad and offers a sympathetic ear instead of just trying to be a replacement dad. Good job, Carlos! I love him so much.

BS wants to fight the rangers on his own, mostly because he wants to destroy them himself. They start to freak out, but Carlos is so sure they'll win. After all, there are five of them versus his one! Blue Senturian is WAY better when he's evil. He has no qualms about hurting them. They kind of fail at hurting him.

Rygog and a monster are at the wishing well, too. The monster fishes Justin's coin out of the well (okay, it's really more of a fountain) and decides to give it to Divatox. There is lots of unmorphed fighting! I approve of this. Unfortunately Blue Senturian comes in to "save the day" and tells them taking from the wishing well is an infraction of the law. The monsters get away and Justin is all upset his special coin is gone.
The monster turns the three coins he stole into wishing coins. Divatox is upset she only gets three wishes and demands more, so the monster (who is apparently yet another purse monster) cowers in fear. Episode 194- The Joke's On Blue
For an episode with Blue in the title, this one has very little to do with Rocky.
There is a new kid in school. He says Angel Grove is much bigger than his old school and all I can imagine is he was home schooled because really? Angel Grove only had two teachers until half a season ago. :P
New Kid shows up just as a rash of practical jokes begin taking place. Rocky loses three plates of french fries to an unscrewed ketchup bottle, teachers get pies to the head, Tanya even gets something squirted all over her from the mustard bottle. There is glitter EVERYWHERE. Bulk and Skull are determined to find out who this practical joker is, and Mrs. Rodriguez will pay them handsomely if they do. Except they have rival detectives! Humphrey and Bogart, who totally don't deserve those names, challenge Bulk and Skull to figure out who can solve the mystery first. All the props come from Angel Grove Novelty Shop. Not terribly surprisingly, nobody bothers to go check with the store.
Meanwhile, on the moon, Sprocket is upset because his big brother is back in town. Prince Gasket and his wife Archerina have come to protect the family while Mondo is away. Archerina shoots love arrows and makes creatures fall in love with her. Louie Kaboom totally falls for her and she makes him go to Earth and attack the Power Rangers. She is totally awesome, although alas, she does not make Stone fall in love with a video game or Ernie with his blender. Anyway, Archerina and Gasket fell in love, but they were from rival robot families and the fathers would never approve. So they did the smart thing and ELOPED instead of committing mutual suicide (eloping is romantic, KILLING YOURSELF FOR A BOY/GIRL IS NOT... can you tell I don't like Romeo and Juliet? It's a thing about me. Sorry) I do love their love story.
So Louie goes down to fight. Fights are boring and take up a lot of time. We spent most of it further discussing which rangers lost their virginity in the Zords. It was far more entertaining.
They win, Louie is a goner, Gasket is in charge now. Back at the Youth Center, Undeserving Humphrey and Not-Cool-Enough-For-His-Name Bogart totally accuse New Kid of being the prankster behind all the jokes. He denies it, but they won't relent. Until Kat and Tanya lead the Angel Grove Novelty Shop guy into the room with the latest shipment of supplies for the Fraudsters. Bulk and Skull eventually put two and two together and Mrs. Rodriguez, now knowing who was setting all the practical jokes, tells Bulk their check is in the mail.

Episode 170- There's No Business Like Snow Business Part 1
Okay, I don't like these episodes on the whole, but I forgot just how amazingly hilarious the first part of this three parter is!
We start off learning a professional snowboarder will be at a nearby (but not local) snow lodge signing autographs. Billy apparently likes snowboarding, while Ernie wouldn't be caught dead there. Tommy is lifting weights and he's halfway through his last set when he receives an OMINOUS letter from Kim. Why she mailed it to the Youth Center I have NO clue. But whatever. He doesn't want to stop so he asks Adam to read it to him. AND HE DOES.
Kim has found somebody new. She's breaking up with him. She no longer has feelings for him, but sees him as a brother... which makes up hope she's doing this because she's discovered she's a lesbian (or at the very least bisexual). She does it in a nice way, I suppose, though a phone call would have gone over better since she couldn't do it face to face. Tommy is all heartbroken. Tommy is heartbroken and goes to mope.
And we get the best BAD MONTAGE. Seriously, it's like the worst fanvid ever, complete with disturbingly cheesy BAD music. I LOVE IT SO.
Kat tries to cheer Tommy up, but it's of no use. So Billy has an idea. He's going to take them to the snow lodge so Tommy can go snowboarding. That should cheer him up! Maybe. I mean, his long time first serious girlfriend JUST dumped him... that HURTS. A LOT. Snowboarding can't really fix that. I never thought I'd say this, but I actually feel bad for Tommy! Will wonders never cease?
So at the snow lodge, Billy and Tommy are ready to get out in THE GLORIOUS SNOW, but Kat is still adjusting to the cold, so she hangs out with some hot chocolate for awhile. She sees some cogs, whom nobody else seems to realize aren't actual people, and so instead of using her communicator, she just follows them.
Meanwhile, Tommy's heartbreak has given Mondo an idea. He pulls out RoboCupid and sends her down to Angel Grove to put a spell on all the humans to make them fall in love with machines. She accidentally puts the spell on herself first and falls in love with Clank. It's WONDERFUL! I love that scene. She hugs him and snuggles him and I just love Monsters in Love.
She has to get to work, though, and she is efficient! Bulk and Skull both fall in love with the motorcycle! Ernie falls in love with his blender! Lt. Stone brings FLOWERS to an arcade game! People are in love with TOASTERS! FRAKIN TOASTERS!
Rocky, Tanya, and Adam know something is wrong. They're training for something (and boys sparring is PRETTY) but they don't know quite what's wrong. They aim to find out, but that's not really focused on much.
Back at the snow lodge, Professional Snowboarder Heather has convinced Tommy and Billy to go down the super-expert Widowmaker with her. They cave. Peer pressure is BAD, you guys. Kat, meanwhile, has chased the cogs down the same route. They have removed the CLIFF WARNING signs. Kat morphs and fights them, but they run off with the signs. She is able to warn Tommy and Billy, but Heather can't stop in time and goes over the cliff. Oh noes!

Episode 150- Attack of the 60' Bulk
It's the 150th episode! Guys! Guys, we made it to the 150th episode! How awesome! Thanks for sticking by us this long, and here's to another 550+ more.
Today's episode starts with the kids going to a water park with Mr. Wilton, the mean teacher that traded places with Rocky. Semi-continuity for the win! We assume he must have taught elementary school at one point since he's chaperoning this apparently school-sponsored trip. He's grateful for the help from Tommy's Uncle William.
While I love having Adult!Billy and the pretty he brings, I do kind of miss Baby!Billy. He was one of the better child actors. Anyway, they decide to sneak off and contact Zordon to see how the Aquitians are doing. Billy begins to lecture them on using the communicators for frivolous purposes, but he eventually caves to the demands of Tiny Children. The Aquitians are doing well and thank the rangers. We kind of love Delphine's hand motions. Zordon then reminds Billy that the Baby!Rangers may have their memories, but they are in physically young bodies and need the physical release. It sounds wrong, so we spent a lot of time telling ourselves he just meant for them to have fun at the water park and burn off some energy.
Zedd and Rita have a plan. They have an ancient scroll (that is not very ancient nor very scroll-like) that can lead them through the long forgotten tunnels beneath the Command Center. They're going to send Rito and Goldar through the tunnels to destroy the Command Center. It's a pretty good plan, minus the whole sending Rito and Goldar part! Rita and Zedd are adorably in love.
In order to distract the rangers, they're going to turn a bully into a monster. They observe the children at the water park and Zedd decides Earth children are so mindless they can't even be mean. I'm forced to wonder what planet he's watching because it sure as heck ISN'T the one I grew up on. Earth children can be plenty mean.
They stumble upon Bulk and Skull playing Pooh Sticks. They apparently had been laughed at (for reasons unknown to us) by Baby!Aisha and Baby!Rocky. In retaliation, they threw some inflatable tubes off a bridge at the baby!rangers and then ran to the other side of the bridge to see which made it first. Baby!Aisha is adorable and indignant because they aren't following the rules. Billy decides to teach them a lesson and goes to lecture them. Mid-lecture, Bulk gets zapped by Zedd and Rita and turns into a giant brain monster called Brat Boy. His suit is made of video game controllers. I'm going to choose to ignore that fact and hopefully not be offended.
Instead of using his watch communicator to contact Zordon, Billy uses a round purple disc that I think is supposed to be the mini-viewing globe the Aquitians used. It's wet, however, and they have to wait for it to dry, so the baby!rangers take a stand. Billy finally gets through and the Aquitians come all the way from Aquitar to save the day! But then Brat Boy grows and dumps polluted water on them and the water park. Somehow he makes it to the city and the Aquitians callCaptain Planet their zords. They are losing, however.
At the water park, Skull is running around trying to find Bulk. Billy and the baby!rangers try to convince him they haven't seen him, but Skull is sure they did because Skull was there when Billy watched Bulk get turned into a monster. Baby!Kat lies (in a bad accent) and tells him Bulk went in a random direction. Don't lie to him! That's rude.
So Billy and the baby!rangers go to the scene of battle and try to talk to Bulk inside Brat Boy. Baby!Aisha wants to help, but they keep telling Bulk they're his friends and... really? They're not. They never have been. They never will be. They certainly weren't friends when they were ten years old, as Bulk and Skull didn't know any of them except Billy. If they needed a friend to get through to Bulk, they should have gotten Skull. Skull would have been far more effective.
Bulk manages to break through and turns back into himself. He's confused and wants his Mommy, and Rita says she's right there. We now want AU fic where she is Bulk's mother. Bulk then gets turned BACK into Brat Boy, and fights it to get BACK to Bulk. It's... poor Bulk. It can't be fun. Rita decides she doesn't want any kids (oh Rita, if only you knew *cough*Thrax*cough*).
The Aquitians are grateful for the help, showing mind and heart can be more powerful than the fist. They go home. Zordon teleports the baby!rangers and unconscious Bulk to the water park, where he wakes up and they manage to convince him that no, they are not Power Rangers, and he just hit his head really hard. Poor Bulk, once again thwarted.
The baby!rangers and Billy teleport to the Command Center where Zordon tells them he has found the shards of the Zeo crystal and they must go on individual quests, through their roots, to get the shards. Billy is determined to go since he's the only one who's an adult again, but Zordon tells him the Zeo crystal will not work for him because he's no longer affected by the spell. The kids have to go, and they have to go by themselves. Confirmation that Billy will no longer be a ranger AND we are heading into the Most Stereotypical Things Ever (expect many rage-inducing episodes to follow).
And so it begins.

If they needed a friend to get through to Bulk, they should have gotten Skull. Skull would have been far more effective.
Bulk manages to break through and turns back into himself. He's confused and wants his Mommy, and Rita says she's right there. We now want AU fic where she is Bulk's mother. Bulk then gets turned BACK into Brat Boy, and fights it to get BACK to Bulk. It's... poor Bulk. It can't be fun. Rita decides she doesn't want any kids (oh Rita, if only you knew *cough*Thrax*cough*).
The Aquitians are grateful for the help, showing mind and heart can be more powerful than the fist. They go home. Zordon teleports the baby!rangers and unconscious Bulk to the water park, where he wakes up and they manage to convince him that no, they are not Power Rangers, and he just hit his head really hard. Poor Bulk, once again thwarted.
The baby!rangers and Billy teleport to the Command Center where Zordon tells them he has found the shards of the Zeo crystal and they must go on individual quests, through their roots, to get the shards. Billy is determined to go since he's the only one who's an adult again, but Zordon tells him the Zeo crystal will not work for him because he's no longer affected by the spell. The kids have to go, and they have to go by themselves. Confirmation that Billy will no longer be a ranger AND we are heading into the Most Stereotypical Things Ever (expect many rage-inducing episodes to follow).
And so it begins.

Episode 127 - The Potion Notion
After the fail that was the last episode, we make up for it with the rarest of creatures, the ONE FISH episode. You guys, this episode was adorable and we love it and SO AWESOME. Whenever we need to be happy, this is going to be one of the episodes we watch.
(In case you were ever wondering about the difference between me and - she rewrites the recaps so that all the caps are removed, while I just go CAPS YAY!)
So, the episode begins with Bulk and Skull trying to butter up Tommy and Kim by saying how adorable they are. Turns out that they are trying to sell tickets for the Junior Policeman Ball. Tommy and Kim think this is a great idea, and Tommy buys tickets. Awww. Basically, Bulk and Skull are adorable, and Tommy and Kim are being really cute together. And you know my opinions on Tommy/Kim.
Up on the moon, it appears that being really cute is the theme of the episode, as Rita and Zedd are preparing for their second honeymoon. Goldar is acting like he's going to be sick, but we think that they're cute! Zedd tells Goldar that he's in charge and that Finster's monster had better be ready by the time they get back. When Rito goes to check on it, he finds out that Rita put a love spell on Zedd, and he sends the Cupid Monster thing down to Earth to spread looooooooove. And, you know, cause chaos.
Kim is the first victim of our invisible cupid monster, as she immediately falls in love with Skull. She plays lovestruck REALLY well. We feel really bad for Skull, because this is not the first time this has happened, but it is so adorable. Especially the look on Tommy and Bulk's face as Kim starts talking about how wonderful Skull is. *SHIPS SHIPS SHIPS SHIPS SHIPS*
The next victim is Lieutenant Stone, who falls for Ms. Applebee. Hey, it's another pairing I can TOTALLY get behind. ADORABLE.
Bulk is mocking Skull for what Kimberly was saying, when he gets hit with the spell, and falls for Aisha, who immediately thinks something is up. The Rangers all gather in the park, and Aisha asks if they noticed anything weird, and Tommy points to Kim. Billy wonders if it's a spell. GEE, YOU THINK?
The Tengas and Goldar show up, and there's a fight, and Kim is all "MUST PROTECT SKULL" and then they head back up to the Command Center, where Kimberly ponders different variations of her name with Skulls, and has a whispered conversation with Aisha that may or may not be about how she hooked up with Skull in the janitor's closet.
On Serpenterra, apparently Rito failed to charge the batteries, so Rita and Zedd are heading home. Goldar finds out that Rita had placed Zedd under a spell. Uh oh. Finster has to go around cancelling the love spell on everyone on Earth (including on Principal Caplan, who was also hitting on Ms Applebee.)
Poor Skull is sad when Kim runs back to Tommy. :( Aww, Skull. Don't worry, you'll find someone eventually!

Episode 103 - The Wedding - Part 3
Just so everyone knows, there won't be a recap this weekend, because I'm going to a SCA event. Your regularly scheduled recaps will start up again next week. (... Our schedule says we're supposed to be in season 3 by now. Oops.)
Anyway, the wedding. You guys, this is the greatest thing in the history of the show so far. If the entire episode had been the wedding, it would have been amazing. Finster performs the ceremony! Goldar didn't bother to get musicians becausehe's trying to sabotage the wedding it was such short notice! One of the monsters ends up playing the wedding march! Speaking of, Rita's version of the wedding march is "Here comes the queen, ain't that a scream." ILU, Rita. BE MORE AWESOME, I DARE YOU. And Goldar speaks up when Finster asks if there's a reason why they shouldn't wed, and Rita hits him with her bouquet. Zedd calls Rita his little prickly pear, and she doesn't want to kiss him!
I have a thing for ridiculous wedding related hijinks, and this is pretty much amazing.
Also, there are fireworks on the moon. And then they dance to hava nagila. (HAVA NAGILA FIGURE SKATING, YOU GUYS. I LOVE YOUTUBE.) We're not really sure why Zedd and Rita chose to play Hava Nagila at their wedding, since it wasn't a Jewish ceremony, but we don't really care, because it is awesome. And the putties and monsters were dancing, and seriously, LOVE.
... Oh, right. There's a plot that isn't about Rita and Zedd. Um, Alpha is still evil, and we adore him. The Rangers are trapped in the abandoned theater, supposedly without their powers even though they're still morphed. Rocky punches the ground and that causes a mini earthquake. I guess that wasn't part of the random power loss. And then they throw a net over the monster that was guarding them and run out the abandoned mine shaft again.
Rita and Zedd are honeymooning on Serpenterra (Rita is sitting on Zedd's lap and they are singing 99 bottles of slime on the wall, and did I mention that Serpenterra has a just married sign?) when Goldar calls to let them know that the Rangers escaped. They tell him to deal with it.
The Rangers make it back to the Command Center, and they pull the disc out of Alpha, and his normal personality reappears, which means no more evil!Alpha. That is a tragedy. Billy figures out some way to get Zordon back, and Alpha feels guilty. Then they go summon Zords and fight a bunch of monsters. Tommy shows off a lot.
At the end, they go back to Australia, and their chaperone is impatient because they it's been two hours and they have to head to a museum now. That was only two hours? Really? ... Right. The Rangers go off to the museum, and Alpha realizes that he left Bulk and Skull in the middle of the outback, so he brings them back, dumping them on their asses in the process. Whatever.
This... did not have a lot of plot. Sorry!
Fish: 5. It doesn't matter how much I love this episode, it was still completely ridiculous.

Episode 102- The Wedding Part 2
I'd like to thank everybody for the awesome birthday wishes yesterday! I had a fantastic day. Today, however, I'm being attacked by spawning Triffids intent on killing me (with their pollen, not the venomous tentacles). We'll see how that goes.
So the best part about this episode? Monsters in love! It's adorable.
So the Rangers are still trapped in this weird abandoned theatre being attacked by a gaggle of monsters (a murder of monsters? A school of monsters? A pack of monsters? What would a large family group of monsters be called?... we both vote for murder of monsters, like a murder of crows). They fight, while still morphed, and do surprisingly well considering they AREN'T SUPPOSED TO HAVE ANY POWERS. Ahem. Anyway. They eventually run away and try to find a way out of the abandoned theatre. They can't get out the front and find a very convenient hidden stairwell. It leads to a basement, which leads to an Old Abandoned Mine Shaft. This Old Abandoned Mine Shaft leads them right out of the power-blocking theatre.
Meanwhile, Rita wakes Zedd on the moon. He's completely smitten with her and they make plans for the immediate wedding. It's freaking ADORABLE. Squat wants to be the Flower Beast and Baboo wants to be the Monkey of Dishonour! Seriously, the MONKEY OF DISHONOUR! Oh folks, I think I'M in love here! Goldar stomps off after being named the Best Man and we assume it's because he's jealous (and terrified for his treacherous treacherous life).
We are curious about something here. Rita has the Power Rangers tied up with all the monsters in the Old Abandoned Theatre of Power Blocking Ability because she doesn't want them interfering with her wedding. Why would they in the first place? How would they even KNOW she was getting married? I mean, it's not like Zordon actually pays attention to what Zedd is doing up on that moon anyway (and Zordon is totally still wearing the awesome graffiti Evil!Alpha put on him last episode).
But back to the show, the Rangers find their freedom thanks to the Old Abandoned Mine Shaft and they find themselves in an abandoned city where they have to fight all the monsters that are now grown. We'd just like to take a moment to say Evil!Alpha is awesome and should have gotten an entire season of his own as the Big Bad. He'd have been PHENOMENAL. Anyway, there is a zord fight and they all fail really really hard. Alpha then teleports them back to the Old Abandoned Theatre of Power Blocking Ability and they just SIT AROUND on the staircase. They don't try to get out. They don't leave out the UNGUARDED front door. They don't backtrack their way down the Old Abandoned Mine Shaft. They just kind of... sit there. And wait. For... whatever they are waiting to happen.
Frankly, it makes me want to call in Scooby Doo and Mystery, Inc. because seriously? They'd have this figured out and taken care of in about two seconds flat, and then Billy could hit on Velma. I kind of have a thing, sorry.
On the moon, Zedd has called all his monsters to him, all but two which he sends back to guard the rangers. They come bearing gifts and discuss how weddings always make them cry. Aw, the big softies. There is a wedding cake with ADORABLE Rita and Zedd cake toppers. Zedd calls his monsters closer and calls them his mutant sons, and then says they are one big evil family. I am ded of adorable!
And that's it. We end with me being Ded of Adorable.

No Billy speak nor covered in food. But there was lots of adorable monsters in love!

Episode 101 - The Wedding - Part 1
So, episode 101 is the end of an era. Billy is losing his glasses, Aisha's hair is in braids, and Rita has made her glorious return! Oh, and for some reason we're headed to Australia. But don't despair, , even though we're in Australia, there is no sign of Kat yet!
The reason that the Rangers are in Australia is ridiculous, btw. Apparently schools in Angel Grove don't just go on class trips - no, they are selected to be teen exchange speakers, so they head off to Australia. I assume the fish picked them, because really? Angel Grove is letting Bulk and Skull go on this trip? Aren't they worried about an international incident? (Skull wonders if they're going to take a train to Australia. I can't even comment on that. Also, why are there no teachers going along?)
Luckily, the Rangers are going on the trip anyway, because the trip miraculously coincides with Zedd's 100 year recharge of evil energies. He just needed a beauty nap or something. Which means that Rita, who has apparently recruited all the fish to help her pilot her dumpster, is returning to the moon with a new sinister plan - she's going to marry Zedd and rule the universe!
In Australia, we guess they ended up in Sydney, because the show realizes that the only landmark Americans would know is the Sydney Opera House. Kimberly is all excited about shopping, and the Rangers are all really damn pretty. Even Tommy! What the hell? Anyway, first it's time for lunch, and Bulk and Skull are all confused by the menu. First they order burgers, and then they change their mind and try to order lobster, but they specify extra fresh. This apparently means live lobster. ..... I can't even comment.
Back at the Command Center, Alpha is really bored because the Rangers are gone. Alpha, you were all alone for 10,000 years! What did you do for that? Crosswords? Sudoku? Write bad romance novels? It doesn't matter, because Zordon tells him to go for a walk.
On the moon, it is time for hugs! Finster is all sad that he is useless now, and he misses Rita. Luckily, Rita is there! He makes her grow, and makes her a potion to make her beautiful, and a potion to make Zedd fall in love with her. Oh, and he goes down to Earth and puts a virus in Alpha. For the record, evil!Alpha is the best thing in the history of this show.
In Australia, the teens are given two hours to go shopping, which is apparently not enough time (well, for Kimberly and Aisha.) I'm sure that important things happened here, but it is entirely possible that there was a really long discussion about their hair, so I have no idea. (Adam did... something, I don't know. I'm not a fan. But I am a fan of Rocky's floppy hair. And floppy hair in general. Whatever.) Alpha comes over the communicator, and tells them that they need to teleport to some abandoned theatre in Angel Grove. Zordon is yelling at Alpha, asking him what's happened, and Alpha lets loose with a bunch of amazing insults and a hilarious evil laugh. (Baldy! He calls Zordon BALDY. AMAZING.) The Rangers are all nervous, but they go anyway.
So while this is going on, Finster has completed the potion to make Rita beautiful, but... really, all it does is make her sparkle. Rita is clearly a sparklepire! She then dumps the love potion in Zedd's sleep machine thing, and waits for the Rangers to teleport into the theatre, which apparently contains some sort of magical vortex thing that will prevent them from using their powers. Except they're still morphed. Whatever.
The most important thing to know about this episode is that evil!Alpha decided to draw on Zordon's warp tube, so Zordon goes around with a blue mustache and giant blue hair. It was exactly as amazing as it sounds.
The Rangers are all in the abandoned theatre thing, and there are really freaky clownheads, and seriously, clowns are creepy.
Rita sends a bunch of monsters (Eye Guy, Snizard, Grumble Bee, peckster, soccadillo, rhinoblaster, Saliguana and Invenusable Fly Trap) down to attack the Rangers in the theatre. They realize that they can't summon their weapons, but they are still morphed. Oh noes!

Alpha comes over the communicator, and tells them that they need to teleport to some abandoned theatre in Angel Grove. Zordon is yelling at Alpha, asking him what's happened, and Alpha lets loose with a bunch of amazing insults and a hilarious evil laugh. (Baldy! He calls Zordon BALDY. AMAZING.) The Rangers are all nervous, but they go anyway.
So while this is going on, Finster has completed the potion to make Rita beautiful, but... really, all it does is make her sparkle. Rita is clearly a sparklepire! She then dumps the love potion in Zedd's sleep machine thing, and waits for the Rangers to teleport into the theatre, which apparently contains some sort of magical vortex thing that will prevent them from using their powers. Except they're still morphed. Whatever.
The most important thing to know about this episode is that evil!Alpha decided to draw on Zordon's warp tube, so Zordon goes around with a blue mustache and giant blue hair. It was exactly as amazing as it sounds.
The Rangers are all in the abandoned theatre thing, and there are really freaky clownheads, and seriously, clowns are creepy.
Rita sends a bunch of monsters (Eye Guy, Snizard, Grumble Bee, peckster, soccadillo, rhinoblaster, Saliguana and Invenusable Fly Trap) down to attack the Rangers in the theatre. They realize that they can't summon their weapons, but they are still morphed. Oh noes!

Episode 60 - An Oyster Stew
You guys, we have reached the end of season 1. It's amazing! When we started this blog back in March, it was mostly just for fun and because we were hanging out. But since then it's become something more, and I'm thankful to each and every one of you who reads and comments, and of course my co-recapper, queenriley. We're planning on putting up a season discussion post (of some sort) later on this week, but for now, let's just talk about this episode. Which we have a guest recapper for - my roommate doctoraicha was in the room while I was watching, and her comments need to be included. (She's responsible for the subtitle. She's never really seen Power Rangers before.)
And after a string of disappointing episodes, we got an amazing one today. In fact, this episode necessitated a change in the livejournal setting to adult concepts, because um, this monster was vaguely NC-17 and the recap is going to reflect that. queenriley and I were cackling through the entire thing. Seriously. AMAZING.
Godzilla and Voltron vs the Peen Monster
First, we have a Zack episode today! We love Zack. We also love Angela.In no way am I writing a ridiculous AU where Angela ends up a Ranger. Plus, Bulk and Skull get to be awesome. When we first see them, they are practicing for an audition. Aww, Bulk and Skull have musical talent! And they just want to be famous! This is pleasing to us. Meanwhile, Kimberly makes fun of them, leading my roommate to ask why the girl in pink is being such a bitch to them.
Zack, meanwhile, is trying to figure out how to impress Angela for her birthday. Because his previous "dates" with her have gone so well. So Zack tries to come up with ways, and his first thought is to buy her pearl earrings. What? Oh, ZACK. Honey. That just... is not going to end well. He's also planning on getting her a singing telegram and going on a double date with Tommy and Kimberly to a french restaurant. Zack, she hasn't even agreed to go out with you yet, this is not going to end well. *pets him* Maybe he should ask Jason instead? Jason would say yes.
Zack manages to ask out Angela, and when she hears "French cafe" she agrees to go along. Zack trying to work up the courage to ask her out is really adorable. We just want to hug him.
Rita has nothing better to do than spy on them, and when she hears that Zack wants to buy pearls for Angela, she creates an oyster monster, who possible beat out both the Terror Toad and the Pudgy Pig as our favorite monster. Seriously, this thing is amazing. It... well, it has a vulva for a head and a giant phallic thing that shoots pink goo out of it. We started laughing at this point and just did not stop. Especially when this episode features such dialogue as "I can take it!" or "Feeling a bit tied up? Let me help you unwind" followed by the monster shooting off a load of pink goo. There are not enough words to describe how amazing this is.
Anyway, Zack tries to find pearls for Angela, but everything is out of his price range. As he runs through the park a shady looking guy stops him, and offers to sell him some jewelery out of his trench coat. Zack is all "it isn't stolen, is it?" and the guy is all "No! It will help whoever you give it to fall in love" and oh, Zack, you are such an idiot. But Zack buys them (and doesn't even try to negotiate on the price, he's just all "is this enough?" and gives money to the guy) and we find out that the guy was actually a putty, who skips away. Also, the pearls that he bought are actually magical pearls of stillness. I want some.
At the restaurant, the menu turns out to be all in French. Zack orders for everyone. Oh, Zack, don't you remember what happened last time there was French cooking on this show? And you know, the name of the restaurant translates to "Snail's Head" which is amazing. Zack ends up ordering frog's legs. Oh, Zack. Then Bulk and Skull show up. Apparently they nailed their audition and now they do singing telegrams. Tommy makes fun of them, but at least they have jobs! They're adorable, honestly.
Zack gives Angela the pearl earrings, and now that he's given her expensive stuff, she loves him. Just as they are about to kiss, Bulk and Skull get knocked over, and food falls all over Zack and Tommy, who go to clean up. Meanwhile, in the park, Trini, Billy and Jason get attacked by putties, and they find out about the Oysterizer and the pearls, and realize that Zack is being used. Instead of using their communicators, they run to the restaurant. While Zack and Tommy are cleaning up, Angela puts on the clip on pearl earrings (oh, Zack, so cheap.) which causes everyone to freeze.
Tommy and Zack (unaffected, because they were in the bathroom, making me wonder what the point of Rita's plan is) go to the Command Center only to discover that the monster is more powerful underwater, so really, they should just use the Dragonzord to fight it, since we KNOW that Zord works underwater.
And then they go fight the Oysterizer, and... our conversation deteriorated really fast.

At some point during the fight while we were busy mocking the monster, Zack ended up wearing Tommy's Shield of Cheap Bling. Which was awesome, and it looks better on him than it does on Tommy. Zack did something and then the monster fell in the water and this broke the spell. We don't know how.
Back at the restaurant, everyone unfreezes, and the earrings disintegrates. Angela yells at Zack and leaves. Apparently Zack left Tommy behind at the beach. We don't know why he does that either. Zack pays for their meal (amazing!) and then the Rangers all morph. They summon the Megazord underwater, and then there are amazingly bad special effects and epic 80s hair band music. We're in love. Then the megazord destroys the monster's pearl.

Anyway, then they summon Dragonzord, because that can fight, and my roommate asks why Godzilla and Voltron are fighting a peen monster, and I fell off the couch laughing. The megazord cleans all the goo off of the Dragonzord, and then they destroy the Oysterizer. With teamwork!
Back at the Youth Center, Zack talks about learning a lesson about not spending money or something, because he's broke, but we're not sure what lesson he actually learned. Because really, Angela was only interested when he bought her stuff. But then he sings to Angela with help from Bulk and Skull, and then Angela kisses him. Awwww.
Basically, this was the best episode ever.
Fish: ONE. BECAUSE AMAZING.

Episode 41- A Pig Surprise
First, I'd like to apologize for this not being up yesterday. We were both incredibly busy and there was inclement weather which made internet not possible. So you're getting it today. And it's a Pudgy Pig episode! I LOVE Pudgy Pig. No rational reason why, I just do.
We start the episode with the ranger teens working at a pet adoption fair. They adopt out a bunny and puppy to children with no parents present (I shudder at the thought). Just as they are about to close up, an elderly woman comes up with a pig on a leash. She can't keep the pig and hopes they can find him a good home. His name is Norman. Kim is grossed out by him, but I just think he's the most adorable piggy ever. Dawwwww Norman.
We cut to Zack running through the forest, stopping long enough to check his watch. He's apparently very late. We suspect he's been taking lessons from Tommy. He stumbles across the old woman from before and she dances around and turns into a putty. He goes to attack, but the putty splits multiple times and Zack complains it's not a fair fight. It's never been unfair before, him versus multiple putties, but we won't complain too much because it makes for one awesome solo fight! He wins, picks up a spinny thing that fell on the ground, and then runs off.
Meanwhile, Bulk and Skull come running up to the pet adoption booth. They want a pet too! They want something cool and different. Trini hands them Norman's leash and they happily take him home. At school the following day, they're showing him off. They are so proud! It's great. Bulk tries to get Norman to do some tricks but Norman basically ignores him, so he says "Stand there and ignore me" which Norman does. It's pretty clever, actually.
Billy and Trini are in Billy's garage trying to figure out the spinny device. Zack walks up and he can't offer much help, but he's curious how it's going. Billy suddenly remembers Zack said it was dropped by a putty that was disguised as an old woman, and it they FINALLY put two and two together. Maybe this device has something to do with Norman! Golly, you think?
They race to school, which is still in session by the way, so they were skipping. Jason and Kim haven't seen Bulk and Skull, so Billy and Trini go back to his garage and the other three look for the pig. Zack finds Bulk and Skull in the Youth Center with Norman just as the timer on the spinny thing counts down to zero. Norman turns into Pudgy Pig and everybody runs screaming. Skull tries to get him to remember that they are his parents, but he just wants to eat Bulk's sandwich. Zack, meanwhile, just kind of stands there. He doesn't call for help. He doesn't use the communicator. He doesn't run off and morph. He just... stands there.
Pudgy Pig has the munchies, which must mean it's 4:20, and he disappears from the Youth Center to who knows where, in hopes of finding food. Zack finally contacts Zordon and he says the other rangers are at the Command Center waiting for him. Zack AND Zordon!Fail.
The rangers all morph and run off to fight Pudgy Pig. Hey, look, it's the SAME sentai footage from Food Fight. Nice to see you there, familiar sentai footage. It is pretty cute how Pudgy Pig just kind of sits on the ledge of the roof though. He's just chilling, hanging out, still with the munchies. He teleports away, though, because the rangers are harshing his squee.
They find him at a pig farm. They hide expertly behind a pile of baled hay (because nothing says covert like bright red, yellow, blue, black, and pink spandex!) and discover he's dancing! Why is he dancing? Why, because he's trying to impress a lady pig, of course! Pudgy Pig is in love and it's the most ADORABLE THING EVER. No, seriously. I spent a few minutes just going "Daawwwwwww" and irritating TSB. The rangers think Pudgy Pig/Norman and Lady Pig would make beautiful bacon together (which is kind of morbid, when you think about it) and then say Pudgy Pig MUST be Norman because Rita's monsters can't fall in love. Way to stereotype, guys! Monsters can fall in love! *grumble grumble*
Zordon contacts them and we discover it was all a distraction. Rita really planned to send Goldar down to demolish the city. He's currently crushing things left and right in downtown Angel Grove. So the Rangers go fight him but end up being attacked by Scorpina instead. Goldar threatens to squish them like the little bugs he thinks they are and so they summon the zords in a really long sequence. Way to be out of sentai footage, guys!
We are then treated to a really long Goldar/MegaZord fight, with lots and lots of Rita reaction shots. Meanwhile, they call for the Mega Sword, which is supposed to be Power Sword, and it actually took me a minute to figure out they were saying Mega SWORD and not Mega ZORD and... yeah. Anyway. Goldar is pulled back by Rita just as the Rangers are about to slice him with the sword.
A short while later, they head back to the pig farm where Pudgy Pig/Norman is still trying to woo the lady pig. She seems rather unimpressed. Billy has fixed the spinny device and uses it to turn Pudgy Pig/Norman back into just Norman the pig. Lady Pig is duly impressed. Farmer agrees to adopt Norman so they can make beautiful (creepy and morbid) bacon together.
At school the following day, we discover Ms. Applebee is ill so Principal Caplan will be teaching her class. They're going to learn about farm animals and we have to remind ourselves this is supposed to be high school. Principal Caplan brings in a pig and poor Bulk and Skull, traumatized from what happened to the last pig they hung out with, freak out and run away. Poor Bulk and Skull.
List time!
Fish: 2.5 because it could have been worse, but it could have been better. And it's the most adorable episode.
Billy speak: "I was able to recalibrate the transformer so if my calculations are correct, it should reverse the process with no harm to Norman"
Question to ponder: Where did Rita get Norman from in the first place?
Fic we want: Angel Grove guidance counselors dealing with weird fears of the students due to Rita's wacky hijinks. "I was attacked by a rubber duck monster! Now I'm terrified to take a bath!" I nominate TSB to write it. Because I have too many fics in the works to add another "mundane daily life of Angel Grove residents" to my list.
